2012 visual effects
Saturday I got to see the 2012 movie. The visual effects in that movie were the most photo-realistic I have ever seen and the entirety of the disaster scenes were done in cg. I found it amazing how seamlessly they were able to blend the cg with the live action to perfection. And while watching the movie on the big screen I found myself marveling at how much time and how big a team of artists it must have took to render the visual effects of the movie so photo-realistically. Great time to be alive for creators of visual effects: http://www.popularmechanics.com/technology/industry/4336701.html?page=1
Here’s the link to an inspiring conference video I came across on the subject: http://www.newyorker.com/online/video/conference/2007/muren
This forum has links to the youtube production vlogs that show how the visual effects for 2012 were done: http://www.sluniverse.com/php/vb/tv-film/36131-2012-visual-effects-blogs.html
Here’s how the effects of one for the best scenes in the movie was achieved:
have you been watching V?
have yet to see 2012 but have a feeling i should actually get a DVD rather than internet streaming if the graphics are as baller as you say.
Is V a tv show? I haven’t been watching much tv lately. Is it good?
And yeah the graphics are great, but the story isn’t the best, kind of cliche. The movie’s all about the spectacle.
yeah, with morena baccarin and alan tudyk. and other ppl. it’s a remake of an 80s scifi miniseries… it has problems but it’s pretty damn intriguing.
hmmm. will check it out.
